The above quote rings true for those of us lucky enough to do what we love to do as a job. I love my 'work'. I prefer to not call it 'work' as I'm conditioned to believe work is supposed to be hard and stressful and take up way too much of your time. But honestly, It still blows me away every time I realise I get to do this as my job. Yes it sounds cheesy and cliché but in this industry if you don't love what you do you don't get to do it for long. Contrary to popular belief it's not easy, both physically and emotionally and if your heart isn't in it, you either burn out or lose interest to find a better paying gig (which could pretty much be anything else).
So why am I wooing you with how much I love my job? Well I've been coming across this concept lately of Pay What You Like. And I'm intrigued.
If you've been around these parts before you'll know I'm a strong advocate of self care and its importance in a healthy, joyful life. I adore having the ability to make my services available at the Space to ensure self care is as simple and accessible as it can be. I feel like the 'Pay What You Like' approach is just another way for me to do this. Plus, it's kinda fun!
It is an interesting concept to pay what you like for a service with a usual set price. Here's how I'm going to trial it for the Space:
For one specific day in June I'll be offering ALL services as 'Pay What You Like'; however there will be a minimum of $10 per booking/client (not per service) as I still have to pay the peeps upstairs 😉
Any gift vouchers purchased on this day, for services only, also qualify for the Pay What You Like promotion.
So for example, on the selected day, you can choose to just pay the $10 minimum, you can choose to pay the full price or you can choose any amount between the two. After the minimum $10 it's completely up to you! 👏🏼
If this interests you and you're keen to know more you'll need to be subscribed to our monthly newsletter to receive the date/day the promotion will be happening. The newsletter will be sent out at the start of June and you can find the sign up on the home page here.
I'm really interested to see if this can work for the Space because I'm sure we can have some fun with it in the future!
