And so it begins.
I love how the above line can be used in both ominous and hopeful situations, for example I’m using it referring to the celebratory festive season that is on our doorstep. I’m pretty sure a character in the Lord of the Rings trilogy uses it as he witnesses the beginning of an epic battle for Middle Earth: same words, different meaning. I’m not a word chef but is that known as a double entendre? 🤔 *This note turned out pretty lengthy so for those looking for something specific here’s the contents:
1) Moving on, I had a Birthday in October. I turned 38, and have absolutely no problem owning that age. I figure I’ve earnt every one of those years so I may as well wear them with pride. The one thing I’ve grown to do every birthday as I age is to set myself little personal asks for the year ahead. This year I’m aiming to become comfortable ‘being seen’. I have a little bit of a reputation as being camera shy (there is only one photo of me and my beloved and we’ve been together nearly 4 years!), but as the Space is evolving (details soon) I’m going to need to get comfortable with some eyes on me, therefore my goal this year is to get comfortable in front of a camera. I’m also hoping to become more conscious of my use of the words Should, Ought and Must. This is an evolving concept for me so I’ll let you know how it goes. Now, to the month ahead! #onwards 2) November is a notoriously busy month at the Space. Not only treatment wise but also in the fact that it is the month that we collect for the Share the Dignity #itsinthebag campaign. If you’re new around these parts, welcome! But also, you can read more of me waxing lyrical about Share the Dignity and supporting their worthy campaigns at the bottom of this note. For those who have played along before, just a reminder that we are collecting any NEW & UNUSED items from the list provided to place into handbags to be delivered to homeless shelters and women over the Christmas period. You can participate in many different ways, also listed at the very end of this note for convenience. We will be collecting up until 30th November and already have a heap of stuff thanks to those of you who have already donated. 3) As part of the Space moving forward I decided our signature Elemental Packages needed a bit of a refresh. It was something I was intending to do earlier this year but well, life (and also: time) but have a strong belief that everything always happens at the right time, no matter what. So now that they are refreshed and ready to step into, for the month of November (for the last time ever at this price point) you can enjoy either a Fire, Air, Water or Earth Elemental Package (all 2hrs) for $100. I know I don’t need to clearly state how great a gift these make, but I’m going to as I am just here to make things easy #yourewelcome. You can check out their refresh HERE. 4) Some other small changes to treatments at the Space are a couple of treatments will no longer be available as single treatments. This is in hope of streamlining bookings. Please note that if you have a gift voucher/ package sequence with these treatments they are of course still valid, no problem at all. For now the following treatments getting the cull are: -30min Facial -45min Pedicure 5) Skin Juice’s new professional Facial products are on their way to the Space as you read so look out for all the info on them and the new facials offered hopefully mid month. There’s some really exciting new things to play with 👏🏼 Please note that if you are wanting to enjoy a treatment at the Space before Christmas I would advise to book either now, or in the next few weeks, as this is the time many clients book 2-3 appointments ahead to fit in with festive season plans and availability may become limited. Also on that note, I am currently experiencing fully booked weeks 1-2 weeks ahead. While it is always possible that things change and availabilities do become available last minute, to avoid disappointment (for us both) please let’s arrange your favoured treatment as early as possible. Please also note that I always run a cancellation/ wait list and am more than happy to place you on that if your preferred time is currently unavailable. I look forward to treating you soon ✨ Kate 💜 6. For the past 3 years the Space has collected for and put together handbags fit the Share The Dignity Christmas #itsinthebag campaign. This campaign aims to collect secondhand handbags (still in good working order) and fill them with a heap of personal goodies before distributing them to women's shelters at Christmas. You see, they realised there was a heap of initiatives for children doing it tough at Christmas (rightly so) but nothing for the Mums or women in the shelters and saw an opportunity to gift these women with their own handbag, filled with personal items to not only provide them some dignity moving forward, but also to let them know they're not forgotten, that they're valued members of a society that does care. As you can tell, I'm just in awe of what this charity provides and the great ideas it actions. For the month of November, the Space is collecting for this drive again so if you're wanting to contribute to this awesome cause, you can either: ✨ Put together you're own filled handbag and drop it to The Space before 1st December. PLEASE NOTE: All Bunnings stores will be collecting fully prepared handbags from Friday 22nd November until Saturday 7th December. You can check out the pic for what to include in your handbag or check this link;https://www.sharethedignity.com.au/christmas-charity/ There are 3 bags you can complete: Standard Women’s, Teens & New Mums/Nappy Bag (see pics). ✨ Donate any old handbags, still in good working order to The Space before the end of November for us to fill on your behalf; ✨ Donate any new, unopened, unused personal items, as listed on the pic or here:https://www.sharethedignity.com.au/christmas-charity/ to The Space before the end of November for us to place into handbags on your behalf; ✨ You can also donate via the website https://www.sharethedignity.com.au/donate-now/
